Aerial Hoop | Aerial Hammock

Spins & Poses

Aerial Hoop & Aerial Hammock, are offered in various levels depending on your experience [Lowlight / Midlight / Highlight]

Aerial Hoop: Aerial Hoop (or sometimes known as Aerial Lyra) lessons focus on building the strength, flexibility, and control necessary to perform tricks on the circular steel apparatus (Hoop). Beginners in Lowlight classes learn foundational movements, basic grips, and safe transitions on and off the hoop. Midlight classes progress to more complex spins, balances, and poses, while Highlight classes challenge students with advanced techniques and intricate combinations. Regardless of level, lessons emphasize proper form, safety, and the development of a strong aerial vocabulary. Instructors guide students through a progression of skills, building confidence and artistry on the lyra.

Aerial Hammock: Aerial hammock lessons utilize the suspended fabric to teach a variety of skills, from deep stretches and inversions to fluid dance-like movements. Lowlight classes introduce students to basic hammock positions, safe entry and exit techniques, and fundamental wraps. Midlight classes expand on these skills, incorporating more challenging wraps, drops, and sequences. Highlight classes focus on advanced techniques, complex choreography, and the creation of seamless transitions within the hammock. Lessons emphasize body awareness, flexibility, and the use of the hammock's support to explore movement in a unique way.

Our Aerial classes are currently offered in Trials and Drop-Ins with Term Choreos coming in next term.

Trials are a one-time class that students can sign up for anytime. These classes can vary in terms of what is taught (i.e., specific tricks / a short combo). Trial classes are up to the instructors’ on what is being taught as these classes are catered specifically for first-timers or extreme beginners.

Drop-In classes are a one-time class that students can sign up for anytime. These classes can vary in terms of what is taught (i.e., specific tricks / a short combo). Feel free to let your instructor know beforehand if you have any requests! Compared to Trials, Drop-In classes are slightly faster-paced and more intensive in terms of what’s being taught.

Choreo Term classes will span across 8 weeks, where students will learn a 3-4 minute choreography to a specific song.
